Mind Shana

Mind Shana was born on the 25th January 1983 in Zimbabwe. Mind is a young expressionist artist from Middelburg, South Africa . He is known for his vivid portrayals of the world around him.

His tenacity in brush strokes and the boldness of subject interpretation mimics his style of another artist, namely Makiwa Mutomba.

From his childhood days he always had a keen interest in drawing and over the passing years developed a deep passion for art. After school he went on to study for a diploma in accounting, but shortly after decided to rather follow his dream of becoming an artist.

Although Mind never received any formal training per se, he began painting with oils in 2002 and became a fully-fledged commercial artist in 2003. In 2006 he partook in the ‘Black Like Us’ Art Exhibition and henceforth became known as a fine artist.

Mind Shana has been able to sell successfully from exclusive art galleries in the past, namely the Cherie de Villiers Galley in Rosebank and the Isis Gallery also in Rosebank. (Now Closed).
